Beaufort Food Festival: 14 Trucks, Live Music, Family Fun

Date:

Lowcountry Jaycees were hosting the fifth annual Beaufort Food Truck Festival on Saturday, April 8th, on Paris Avenue in Port Royal. After being cancelled twice in the last three years, the festival is back and offered a range of food and entertainment options for attendees.

The Festival’s Features

The event began at 11 am and run until 9 pm, giving people a full day of entertainment. With 14 food trucks offering a variety of cuisines, ranging from desserts and ice cream to Polish, American, and Filipino foods, there was something for everyone.

The festival also featured live music from Campfire Tyler, Steel Rail Express, and El Camino. Attendees were able to browse artisan crafts or bring their children to the kid’s zone for some family-friendly entertainment. With various games available, everyone cuold find something they can enjoy.

A Chance to Give Back

The festival is the signature event of the Lowcountry Jaycees and is a chance for the organization to give back to the community. Most of the proceeds from the festival  benefited Jaycee Camp Hope, a residential camp for individuals with intellectual disabilities aged 7 and older. Established in 1969, the camp provides campers with outdoor experiences through four summer sessions, including exercise, outdoor activities, personal growth, and social development with peers and caring adults.

In the past, the festival has been successful in raising funds for Jaycee Camp Hope, with the majority of food trucks selling out. Last year, the event raised $6,000 for the camp.

The Lowcountry Jaycees

The Lowcountry Jaycees is an organization that provides leadership training and community service opportunities for men and women between the ages of 21 and 40. Their mission is to promote self-improvement through community service and leadership training.

The organization has planned the festival to showcase their commitment to community service while providing a fun and engaging experience for attendees. With food, music, and entertainment options for all ages, this year’s festival had a success.
